Corona Virus Left Everyone Vulnerable – Know How World is Battling with COVID-19

For many people right now, the scale of Coronavirus reminds the 2008 world recession, the 9/11 terrorist attack, or the Ebola outbreak in 1976 near the Ebola River in Congo. It reshaped the society right from how to travel, the level of security arrangements in the world to how to prevent yourself against virus outbreaks.

A novel Coronavirus has contained all of us in our home, maybe for months. The world’s biggest economy, America is no longer deprived of its outbreak. Highly-developed European countries have given-up before the Coronavirus outbreak. Around 196 countries of the world are affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. Corona is spreading rapidly across the globe. There have been more than 450,000 confirmed cases so far, which are increasing with each passing day.

Italy- A New Epicenter of Corona Outbreak

Southern Europe has been a new epicenter of Corona Outbreak. Italy has emerged as the biggest victim of Corona Outbreak, where the death toll has crossed 7000. Italy has almost surrendered before the corona outbreak. The majority of the cases are reported from the Lombardy region of Italy. Hospitals are at breaking point and have asked retired doctors and nurses to return to work immediately. Italy government had announced a lockdown on March 12 in the entire country to stop further spread.

The USA is facing a surge in cases to a great extent. The actual figure for affected people with Coronavirus is believed to be much higher than the registered cases because many of the people with mild symptoms are not tested yet. The WHO is concerned about the USA and said the USA might become the next epicenter of Corona Outbreak. More than 30,000 Corona cases are reported in New York City so far.

Wuhan City – Origin of Corona

The story begins on December 31, 2019, when China alerted WHO with the strange cases of pneumonia in Wuhan, a city of 11 million people situated in the central Hubei Province. That meanwhile, the virus was unknown to everyone. Some of the infected people used to work Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, which was shut down immediately by the Chinese government. On January 7, the Chinese officials announced that they have detected a new virus as per the WHO statement. The novel virus was named COVID 19, belonging to the Coronavirus family.

Coronavirus spreads through being near the Corona infected person when he sneezes or touches a surface. On January 1, China declared its first death of a 61-year-old man who had purchased goods from that seafood market. Treatment given to him did not work out, and he died of heart failure. Since then, this dangerous virus has begun to spread beyond the international border. In the next week, many countries have started reporting corona cases.

Cases in Wuhan started to increase uncontrollably. Sensing the sensitivity of the cases, the Chinese government imposed lockdown in the entire Wuhan city. Within the next few weeks, this human to human transition virus took the shape of an epidemic. On January 30, The WHO had declared Coronavirus outbreak a global emergency. Till January 30, the death toll had been touched 170, with a total number of 7711 reported cases.

Till March 25, most of the countries in the world have imposed lockdown. All international flights have been canceled, and public transport has been abandoned. All the Corona affected countries have asked their citizens to strictly follow the lockdown by staying Indoor for the next few weeks so that the further Coronavirus spread can be stopped immediately. Hospitals are conducting corona tests on the war-footing level. They have increased the ventilator capacity to provide treatment as much as Corona infected people. Governments are taking every possible step to curb the spread of Corona. The only thing that the ordinary citizen needs to do is stay home and stays safe.

Some countries have managed to control the Corona Outbreak by imposing lockdown, maintaining social distancing, and increasing testing. Moreover, the world is watching towards the scientists with a ray of hope, who have started testing the vaccine that is competent to treat Corona. We are waiting for the day when the world will get over with Corona Outbreak and back to their healthy life.

My take on Coronavirus Crisis

The world can take months to recover from this crisis. But things will not remain safe. Corona crisis is believed to change the world permanently for better or worse. It will change the way we live. We might see a reduction in pollution, sophisticated use of technology, less polarization, focus on strengthening the health care system, improving our lifestyle – much more is going to change in the future.
